Bruce Whiteside

A New Zealand/ Australian far right activist. Whiteside was born and raised in Invercargill, NZ. He moved to Australia in the late 70s, settling in Queensland. Whiteside became active in the far right through his opposition to immigration and foreign trade, joining the extreme right Confederate Action Party in the 90s.

Whiteside became a supporter of Pauline Hanson and her One Nation Party. He became notorious for founding and leading the Pauline Hanson Support Movement (PHSM). The PHSM developed into a grass roots campaigning group that was active in fundraising and advertising for Hanson through an intricate far right network that stretched nationwide.

Whiteside was later stood down as leader of Pauline’s groupies and removed from the party in what he describes as a hijacking of the PHSM by David Oldfield.
