John Cumming

An Australian far right politician. Cumming is a conspiracy theorist from Queensland. He owned several businesses including McCafferty’s Coaches and Nicols-Cumming Advertising. Cumming was also the founder of the organisation AUSTAND, which held close associations with the Australian League of Rights, advocating a 2% flat tax rate for Australian citizens.

Cumming played a role in the rise of One Nation, being a close economic advisor to party leader Pauline Hanson and behind the League of Right’s influenced 2 % Easy Tax policy.. Cumming eventually became disillusioned with the ONP and went on to found his own Great Australians Party in 2003, which focused on his anti tax/ protectionist positions.

Cumming would resign as leader of GAP to be succeeded by John Rivett. Cumming would remain active in the fringes of the far right, speaking at the Inverell Forum. He has also written several works including The Great Australian Swindle and Lucky Be Damned, in which he has attempted to articulate his belief in NWO banking plot to sell Australian assets overseas.
