Antipodean Resistance

Screen Shot 2017-05-13 at 5.50.12 pm

A Melbourne based neo Nazi organisation. AR was formed in 2016 by a small gathering of neo Nazi nipsters (Nazi hipsters) based on university campuses. AR claims to be an elitist youth organisation against Jews, homosexuals, non whites and the mentally & physically disabled. It claims to be setting up nationwide chapters, although their activity appears to be limited to Melbourne.

Screen Shot 2017-05-13 at 5.50.24 pm.png

AR gained media attention when they snuck around in the middle of the night and plastered the Hawthorn campus of Swinburne University in posters pictured above. AR members are believed to have been present at the Coburg anti socialist rally in late May as well as attempting to disrupt a Black Lives Matter rally in July alongside members of the United Patriots Front & Combat 18. The group operates a website, twitter account and are highly active on a neo Nazi forum founded by Russian mixed race online sexual deviant Alexander Mukhidinov.

Antibodean Resistance have kept up their occasional self proclaimed “raids” but only on the nights their mums let them out. They slapped up a bunch of the above stickers around the streets of Melbourne, targeting Melbourne Trades Hall in March. Dressed in masks, the 5 or so kids snuck round at night but were chased off by a worker and had their stickers removed.

In 2017 Antibodean Resistance announced the expansion of their little grouplet to Tasmania & NSW. On 20/04/17 on Hitler’s birthday, Sydney Uni was targeted with a big bad sticker campaign. Again creeping under the cover of darkness, one or so AR member ripped down a couple of socialist posters, sending out a torchlight of resistance, whispering their existence in NSW. We at AFAS can safely say that we are all shaking in our boots at the thought of running into the two or so inner city nipsters terrifying 1st year teenage uni students. At Night. When no one is even there…..

Antipodean Resistance were one of several tiny neo Nazi grouplets that posted several creepy homophobic posters over Melbourne, targeting the upcoming vote on Same Sex Marriage. Fits in well with their totally non gay all male bush hiking sessions in their most bad ass civilian military dress ups.

With Friends Like These… Tim Anderson & NSW’s Fascists

Dr Tim Anderson is a University of Sydney academic and a leading figure in pro-Assad circles in so-called Australia. A self-proclaimed Marxist, Dr Anderson has written extensively on the Syria conflict. Recently, Dr Anderson found themselves at the centre of an Australian media firestorm with the #Syriahoax campaign.

Tim Anderson

Screen Shot 2017-05-01 at 11.05.06 pm.png

But despite his Leftist pedigree, Dr Anderson’s extensive anti-imperialism work has seen him rub shoulders with some incredibly alarming figures, including some of Australia’s most well-known white nationalists and outright fascists. Specifically, this includes: Australia First Party (AFP) chairman Jim Saleam, regular Daily Stormer contributor and AFP number-two Nathaniel Sykes, infamous neo-Nazi Ross ‘the Skull’ May, and founding Party for Freedom (Australia) member James Sternhill.

To be clear, what follows is not an attack on Dr Anderson’s work on Syria. Nor should it be read as an attempt to weigh in on the Syrian conflict, or an implicit endorsement of one side or the other. Rather, given the history of fascist attempts to infiltrate Leftist circles and university campuses, we believe people must be vigilant in the face of fascist entryism and the emergence of a possible ‘red and brown alliance’. It is important that Leftists of all stripes, regardless of their position on Syria, are aware of Dr Anderson’s ongoing willingness to share a platform with fascists and their fellow travellers. In the words of Buenaventura Durruti: ”fascism is not to be debated, it is to be smashed”.

A White-Nationalist Weekend Away

In late November of 2016, in the sleepy Blue Mountain’s town of Leura, a liquorice all-sorts of NSW’s nationalists, fascists and Burkean conservatives milieu gathered for the annual Leura Forum. Organised through a loose group called ‘Defend Our Heritage’ by Blue Mountains local Julie Head, the Leura Forum began operating around 2014/15. It was organised as a “better late than never” substitute for now defunct Sydney-based white nationalist ‘intellectual’ events like the Sydney Forum and Ironbark Club. This year however, along with the usual far-right patrons there was Dr Anderson, who had been invited there to speak on the ongoing conflict in Syria.

Chaired by Sternhill, the Leura Forum’s panel included alongside Dr Anderson: historian Keith Windschuttle, whose work argues (among other things) that the Stolen Generation of Indigenous children is a myth, that the degree of racism in Australia’s history is exaggerated and that violence perpetrated by British forces during colonialism has been invented by a number of Australian historians; prominent anti-Communist and monarchist Dr Amy McGrath; trade agreement ‘expert’ John Marae; and of course Australia’s most infamous neo-Nazi, Jim Saleam.

Keith Windschuttle addressing the Leura Forum

Screen Shot 2017-05-01 at 11.19.27 pm

The day begins with a cringe worthy veneration of the Australian flag, a vitriolic anti-LGBTQI+ tirade, a call-to-arms to fight ‘the Left’ and a prayer in support of Donald Trump (all that just in Sternhill’s introduction!). After Dr McGrath and Marae’s presentation and a brief lunch, Anderson finally rises to the podium to deliver his presentation on Syria, anti-imperialism and the Assad regime.

During Dr Anderson’s near thirty-minute presentation, there are an (unsurprising) number of anti-Semitic remarks, including elated chuckles from some members of the audience at the idea of Islamic State militants executing captives “Kosher” style, and bemoaning about the “Jew York Times”.  Dr Anderson also fields questions from the audience, during which he agrees with May that “the Jews got a kickin’” in 1973 (referring to the Arab-Israeli War).

Not only did Dr Anderson agree to speak at an explicitly white nationalist forum alongside outspoken racists, anti-Communists and downright fascists – he sat through the entire day’s proceedings (and presumably joined them for lunch!). At any point during the event, Dr Anderson *might* have been able to save some small shred of Leftist credibility, had he called-out any of the numerous racist, anti-Semitic, homophobic or transphobic comments during the day. He could have challenged their far-right and fascist “discourse”. He could have gotten up and walked out of there.

Better yet, he could have refused to participate in the first place.

Fool Me Once, Shame on You; Fool Me Twice, Shame on Me

Importantly, this is not the first-time Dr Anderson has appeared at an event along-side NSW fascists and far-right activists like Saleam. Late last year Dr Anderson attended the Christmas Eve commemoration for slain Russian ambassador Andrey Karlov, who was assassinated in Turkey days before. Saleam was there, having publicised his party’s attendance beforehand, along with his second in command and United Nationalists Australia editor Nathan Sykes. Also in attendance was Iggy Gavrilidis, leader of the Greek neo-Fascist Party Golden Dawn (Australia) and Simeon Boikov leader, head of the Zabaikal Cossack Society of Australia, a right-wing, Russian ultra-nationalist group.

(Left to right) Sykes, Anderson, Boikov, Saleam, GavrilidisScreen Shot 2017-05-01 at 9.47.27 pm.png

At first, this appearance was dismissed by Dr Anderson’s supporters as a legitimate attempt to present a Leftist perspective to the numerous media outlets covering the event. In theory, Dr Anderson was there to prevent the dissemination of a right-wing or fascist narrative regarding Syria and the Assad Government. This excuse – though dubious – was more-or-less accepted at face value.

The same however cannot be said of Dr Anderson’s most recent appearance. There was no outside media to be courted. No public narrative to be influenced. Just a room full of some of Australia’s most prominent nationalist, fascist, and neo-Nazi elements.

The Leura Forum is by its very nature is a white-nationalist space, organised by and for Australia’s far-right and a troupe of deranged conspiracy theorists. The forum’s organisers, Defending Our Heritage, enthusiastically endorse the primacy of Anglo-Australia, Christianity and so-called ‘traditional values’ regarding sexuality and gender. They are eager to dismiss or downplay the extent of racist violence inherent in the colonial project that is Australia, both past and present. They detest the idea of a pluralistic, multicultural society.

As such, Dr Anderson’s willingness to share a platform with some of NSW’s most infamous fascist and far-right elements seriously calls into question his judgement. This is not something that can be dismissed as merely a poor decision or sheer ignorance of the facts. Dr Anderson is either seriously compromised, or simply unfazed by the prospect of working with outright fascists provided their ‘anti-imperialist’ politics compliment his own. Both are incredibly alarming prospects.

What About That Famous AFP/PfF Feud?

Dr Anderson’s questionable appearance at the Leura Forum aside, the interaction between AFP and PfF members on the day (specifically Saleam and Sternhill) is worth a quick note.

The AFP and PfF have, by their own admissions, enjoyed a long running rivalry. Competing for the same small slice of the Sydney fascist pie, the two organisations clash – or at least claim to – on ideological and strategic lines.

According to the AFP, the PfF actively work to undermine ‘authentic’ (read: white) nationalism in Australia by including non-whites and Jews in their anti-Islam project. PfF’s penchant for street theatre (like the storming of a Gosford Church to ‘protest’ against “creeping Sharia”) is seen as childish and ineffective by the AFP.

The PfF on the other hand claim to reject the AFP on the basis of their explicit Nazism. In particular, party head Nick Folkes has berated Saleam over his neo-Nazi roots on a number of occasions, going as far as to accuse Saleam of being a state informant and agent provocateur in one hilariously shrill video.

But despite this ongoing and very public spat, founding PfF member Sternhill is happy to facilitate a forum which includes his parties arch-nemesis Saleam. Not only that, but in an almost star-struck fashion, Sternhill lavishly praises Saleam during his introduction, adding enthusiastically “I’ve been to plenty of his [Saleam’s] presentations!”

Looks like Folkes needs to have a word with some of his members about party loyalty!

Oxana Kriss

Screen Shot 2017-05-02 at 2.55.45 pm.png

A Sydney based Ukrainian nationalist activist. Kriss, who currently resides in Koograh, immigrated to Australia from the Ukraine around 2009. She studies Human Rights Law at the University of New South Wales.

She likes to holiday with nationalist flags

Screen Shot 2017-05-02 at 2.56.40 pm.png

Kriss is a Ukrainian nationalist activist, with sympathies towards the extremer elements of the pro Ukrainian movement including Stepen Bandera. Bandera led the Organisation of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN B) during WW2. His forces killed over 60 000 polish civilians in an attempt at ethnically cleansing the region. His forces also wilfully collaborated with the Nazis to round up, deport and kill Jews and Russians within the Ukraine.

Screen Shot 2017-05-02 at 2.58.44 pm.png

Kriss is far from just an observer with some dodgy sympathies. In 2014 she founded Smiling Child International, a shady front organisation to fundraise for the ambiguous pro Ukrainian rebels. One of the largest of these is the neo Nazi militia Azov Battalion, who are fellow Bandera supporters. Azov are the armed wing of the larger Pravy Sektor (Right Sector).

Despite the evident lack of Ukrainian ultra nationalist organisations in Australia, Kriss still has some friends. She is a close friend of Trotskyist activist Mark Goudkamp who is involved in the Refugee Action Coalition and a prominent figure within the Trotskyite organisation Solidarity, which is closely linked with the English Socialist Workers Party. The two are pictured below attending a Sydney rally in December 2016 in support of the US backed Free Syrian Army, which is linked to the Al Qaeda network.

Simeon Boikov

Screen Shot 2017-05-02 at 2.52.37 am.png

A Russian nationalist activist from Cabramatta, Sydney. Boikov claims to be apart of the Cossack cultural tradition, a grouping of people within parts of the Ukraine and Russia that were devout supporters of Tsar Nicholas II (Nicholas the Bloody). Simeon runs his own diaspora activist organisation the Zabaikal Cossack Society of Australia (based in Cabramatta) that have attended protests in recent years in support of the Russian state. He also operates his own newspaper The Russian Frontier.

Screen Shot 2017-05-02 at 2.53.53 am.png

For the most part Boikov and his Cossack group are active in celebrating Cossack traditions including horse-riding, cosplay, cooking, singing and dancing. The other half of their activity includes Putin worship, expressing support for the Russian state in all their endeavours. In 2014 Boikov travelled to the Ukraine during the conflict in Donetsk, where he trained with pro Russian separatist groups, in particular those believed to be connected to the shooting down of MH17. Boikov, who was being monitored by ASIO at the time, was arrested whist in Ukraine, where he was found to be taking plenty of photos of himself with guns, tanks and soldiers.

Screen Shot 2017-05-02 at 2.56.01 am.png

Boikov is a colourful character who must possess a large wardrobe full of various Russian military uniforms he whips out on the selected occasion. Like many other Cossacks and assorted Russian nationalists & reactionaries, Boikov is a devout Orthodox Christian, which he incorporates into his groups activities. He and members of his family are connected to several legitimate Orthodox Christian organisations. In March 2016, this odd fellow and several mates turned up in military uniforms to confront an Islamist who had allegedly smashed a number of Orthodox graves at Rookwood Cemetery.

Screen Shot 2017-05-02 at 2.56.37 am.png

Through his various shady connections within the Orthodox community, Boikov has been able to make some very interesting friends. Through dodgy groups such as the Orthodox Brotherhood, Boikov has come into contact with the Golden Dawn, a Greek neo Nazi movement with chapters in Australia (pictured above). Boikov has also close family connections to supporters of the Serbian Chetniks, a Nazi collaborationist group responsible for the murder of 1000s of Muslims.

Through his connections to the Golden Dawn, Boikov and his Putin worshipping pals have come into contact with Jim Saleam & his Australia First Party. All of Boikov’s new Nazi mates all share a common worldview regarding supporting the Syrian president Bashar al Assad & Vladimir Putin against Western imperialism and their Islamist mates. This has manifested in Boikov organising, attending and speaking several rallies in Sydney.

On Christmas Eve 2016 Boikov organised a rally out the front of the Russian consulate in Woollahra in commemoration of the Russian ambassador to Turkey who was assassinated by a Turkish Islamist. In attendance were Australia First members, Golden Dawn, Chetniks and even Australia’s local chapter of Putin’s very own bikie gang the Night Wolves.

Avi Yemini

Screen Shot 2017-05-02 at 2.43.41 am.png

A Melbourne based martial arts instructor and Zionist activist. Yemini was born in Melbourne and is of Israeli origin. He is a member of the Israeli Defence Forces, working as a sniper on the Gaza strip. Yemini gained media attention when his brother Manny Waks, a sexual abuse whistle-blower, sued Yemini for defamation after he had tried to discredit his brother.

Yemini took his skills learned in the Israeli army and established his own combat gym IDF Training in Caulfield, Melbourne, which specialises in Krav Maga, a martial art used by the IDF. Yemini was exposed in the media for doing a little more than teaching self-defence. Despite the subtle name, Yemini’s gym was established to train and recruit Australians into the IDF. He invited members of his gym to secretive tactical shooting lessons as well as instructions to join the Israeli army.

Screen Shot 2017-05-02 at 2.44.20 am.png

IDF Training

In 2016 Yemini was again in the news this time for his far right political views. Using the title Independent Jewish Council of Australia, Yemini and a handful of collaborators plotted to organise a gathering with One Nation senators Pauline Hanson & Malcolm Roberts. Despite both senators’ previous links to anti Semitism, Yemini believed it was the time to have frank discussions about Muslim immigration and secure a Jewish voting base for the ONP. Unfortunately for Yemini, the local Jewish community have longer memories than him and know exactly what Pauline and her motley mob are. A group calling itself Jews Against Fascism mobilised a highly successful campaign against the event, resulting in it being cancelled on account of security risks. Safe to say Yemini wasn’t pleased.

Screen Shot 2017-05-02 at 2.45.31 am.png

Avi has been cracking the shits recently, taking up issue with Muslim celebrities such as Anthony Mundine & Yassmin Abdel-Magied. He has also been cozing up with big names in the anti PC crusade, namely Mark Latham and Andrew Bolt. But it all hasn’t being hugs and kisses. He split up with former fan boy and fellow traveller Shermon Burgess after his conversion from One Nation cheerleader to brooding anti Semite and Holocaust denier. Avi denounced Shermie as a terrorist & a Nazi, whist remaining amicable with Shermie’s partner in crime Neil Erikson.

Screen Shot 2017-09-12 at 8.44.45 pm.png

Yemeni has been a popular boy recently, appearing on the TV a lot throughout 2017 with the help of mates such as Andrew Bolt to plug his new sales slogan Make Victoria Safe Again (borrowed from the American alt right) which seems to be a ploy to get free advertising for his gym. His initiative seems to be aimed at the Apex gang, a phenomena created by in large by the corporate media. He has also taken the opportunity to spruik his Islamophobic Zionist rubbish, giving his opinions on immigration bans to be put in place in Australia.

Screen Shot 2017-09-12 at 8.45.06 pm.png

He is also calling for the legalisation of civilians to carry weapons including firearms as a precaution against terrorism. Funnily enough, Yemeni also seems to think that the anti fascist movement (not an organisation or group) should be proscribed by the government as a terrorist organisation. Mate, we aren’t the ones teaching secretive sniper & paramilitary training as well as recruiting for the IDF, one of the most ruthless forces in the world.

Avi has been busy promoting his up and coming Make Victoria Safe Again rally to take place in late September 2017. In order to do this, he has been seen making some very odd allies indeed. His first stop for support were the beer bellied biker wannabes Soldiers of Odin, turning up for one of their little sausage sizzles in the Melbourne CBD. Avi also had his eyes set on Sydney in August, when he planned to hijack a protest against Waverley councils refusal to develop a synagog in Bondi with the support of fellow Melbourne based agitator Neil Erikson.

Screen Shot 2017-09-12 at 8.50.38 pm.png

Neil Erikson, Avi Yemini & Chris Shortis

A more surprising call for aid was made to his new Nazi allies Blair Cottrell, Chris Shortis and new e-buddy Neil Erikson. Avi turned up to their court case on the 4th of September in solidarity with the trio, now convicted of inciting serious contempt under the Racial & Religious Tolerance Act. Avi had planned to attend to “confront Antifa” and instead found himself in the company of Jew hating holocaust deniers. Despite Avi’s claims to be a proud Jew, Avi had no qualms supporting and hanging out with Blair “a picture of Hitler in every classroom” Cottrell, Chris “red pilled national socialist” Shortis and Erikson, who was convicted of stalking & harassing a rabbi Avi grew up with.

Screen Shot 2017-09-18 at 8.45.15 pm.png

Despite the awkward contradictions of the Nazi- Zionist alliance that seems to be developing in Melbourne, Yemini’s “Make Victoria Safe Again” rally took place on the 17th of September in the middle of Melbourne’s CBD. Dribs and drabs of TBC, SoO and fellow bottom feeders turned up to fill the numbers of Avi’s rally, that added up to no more than three dozen bodies. The focus of the rally was directed at crime, signalling in particular against African peoples in Melbourne’s outer suburbs, who Avi who has in the past likened them to human garbage. A flakey and unstable Avi mentioned that he had intended to cancel the rally due to his lack of faith in himself. He really would have saved himself a lot of embarrassment if he had tbh.

Edmond Melhem

Screen Shot 2017-05-02 at 2.39.41 am.png

A Syrian neo Nazi activist based in Sydney. Melhelm, who holds a doctorate in political science, is a devoted supporter of Lebanese politician and philosopher Antoun Saadeh. Saadeh became a leading figure in the Syrian nationalist movement during the 30s and 40s. He was inspired by European fascist movements, in particular the Nazis, forming the Syrian Social Nationalist Party in its image, going as far as to even use a swastika for its logo.

Screen Shot 2017-05-02 at 2.40.20 am.png

Melhem is the Australian based leader and representative of the Syrian Social Nationalist Party. Melhelm who has attended Arab/ Palestine related demonstrations in the past, keeps some very dodgy company. For some years, Melhem has been in close contact with Jim Saleam, president of the Australia First Party. In 2006 Melhem addressed the AFP run event Sydney Forum to discuss Syria. On December 17 2016 he was the key speaker at the Australia First forum in Seven Hills.

Mark Ellis

Screen Shot 2017-05-02 at 1.50.37 am.png

A Queensland based far right politician. Prior to his involvement in fascist politics, this twisted fuck was a cop. He & six other cops were involved in the kidnapping of three young Aboriginal children in 1994. Ellis and his accomplices demanded the children strip and proceeded to confiscate their shoes, threatened to “cut off their fingers” and dumped them out of town to walk over 16 kilometres home barefoot.

Screen Shot 2017-05-02 at 1.52.07 am.png

The six bastards were charged with Kidnapping and put on probation. The incident became a highly prolific media scandal at the time, being dubbed the Pinkenba Six. It sparked outrage and anger within the local indigenous community as their cry for justice fell on deaf ears. But the great Australian system would come in handy for Ellis and his pig mates when the charges were eventually dropped on account of systemic institutionalised racism against 1st Nations people and the impunity of police crimes in Australia.

Screen Shot 2017-05-02 at 2.23.48 am.png

After 30 years of hiding away in the shadows from national media disgrace, Ellis seems to think now was the time that everyone would have forgotten about his little incident and he could pursue a career as one of Pauline’s puppet candidates, standing  as a One Nation candidate for the seat of Macalister. He was wrong and he was right. Wrong in the sense that his past did come back to haunt him, right in the sense that he would be the latest of many ONP candidates to follow suit in dis-endorssment & disgrace.

If this wasn’t enough already, there are the Nazi pictures. Mr Ellis is found to be waist deep in filth between racially profiling & torturing children he manages to squeeze in a little Nazi fetishisation and workplace harassment. Ellis was accused of threatening harm upon former employees of his private security company Gatecrash Security. Photos were also discovered on his social media pages of Ellis sieg heiling on a lawn with a Swastika mowed into it. WTF is wrong with this lot?

Ellis’s backyard blitz…krieg
