National Front of Australia

A small far right organisation. It was founded in 1977 by Rosemary Sisson in the image of its British counterpart the National Front, which was enjoying electoral populist success in the 70s. It was made up of several of Australia’s neo Nazi components, mostly white power skinheads.

During the 80s it was centred around colourful neo Nazi Ross May, and was closely associated with the New Zealand National Front. Many of its members participated in minor level assaults and attacks on immigrants and leftists, despite the party’s plans to form a legitimate far right nationalist party.

It collapsed in the mid 80s.
